Finally Back!

Well, I've finally gotten the classroom blog up and running again. I am sorry for the delay. You will find math tips, project information and important dates all right here.  I will also post the IB trait of the month each month. I hope you all find this blog helpful.

The IB trait for the month of October is ......Knowledgeable. Help us celebrate this trait by talking at home about the different types of Knowledge we all can share with each other.

In math we have been working on larger division and multiplication problems. If you click on the math tips link above, you will find some information that may help you understand our "new way" of doing these types of calculations.

December has come and gone quickly. It's hard to believe we're already into the middle of January! We missed the post for the IB learner profile trait for the month of November. The trait was Thinker and the class voted Chris and Will as the thinkers of the month! Nice job Chris and Will!!

The trait for the month of December was Communicator. The 2 students voted as the best communicators of the month were Abby and Will! Nice job you two.

For the month of January we have been focusing on the IB learning profile trait of principled. Stay tuned to see who gets voted as most principled in our class!

It's getting chilly!

The weather is starting to cool down out there. Please send a coat or sweatshirt in with your child every day. There have been times we've had to leave the building, and it can get cold standing outside this time of year.

Our IB Profile of the month is Knowledgeable. Our class will be looking for someone to vote as our "knowledgeable student of the month"! Be sure you're showing how knowledgeable you really are every day!

Math Assessments.....
I am sure you and your child are anxiously awaiting the scored math assessment. They have not been sent home yet for a couple fo reasons. They are mostly done, but I still have 2 kiddos finishing them up today. I prefer not to send assessments home until all students have taken them. Due to the fact that the math test is common for all fourth graders, the fourth grade team would like to collaborate on the scoring of these assessments. We will be meeting Monday to discuss the them, and they will be coming home with your child your child early next week.

Our IB Learner profile of the month is being an Inquirer. Ask you child what he or she thinks being an inquirer looks like. We will be reflecting on this trait daily. We will also be watching our classmates to see who we think is demonstrating this trait. We will be choosing an Inquirer of the month at the end of September!
